Production CNC Machining Services

From pilot runs to repeat orders — dedicated fixturing, SPC checks, consistent batches, and unit pricing that scales. From small batch CNC machining of dozens of pieces to repeat production in the thousands.

From First Batch to Repeat Orders, One Supplier

Production CNC machining is a different discipline from prototyping. A prototype proves a part can be made once; production proves it can be made five hundred times, to the same dimensions, at a unit cost that works for your program. IsoCNC runs production machining for OEMs in North America and Europe — from pilot batches of dozens to repeat orders of thousands — with the tooling, inspection routines, and process discipline that volume demands.

How We Ramp a Part to Volume

Production doesn't start at quantity 1,000 — it starts with a controlled ramp:

  1. 1. Pilot run. Tens of pieces on production-intent tooling. We prove out fixturing, cycle time, and inspection methods, and you approve first article data before the run continues.
  2. 2. Process lock. Programs, fixtures, and inspection plans are revision-controlled and stored. Your reorder is a repeat of a proven process, not a fresh setup.
  3. 3. Production batches. Hundreds to thousands per release, with in-process checks at defined intervals and final dimensional inspection before packing.
  4. 4. Repeat releases. Blanket POs and scheduled releases welcome. Stored programs and fixtures mean shorter lead times and stable pricing on reorders.

Because the same shop runs your CNC prototyping and your production, nothing gets re-sourced between development stages — the program that made your prototype becomes the program that makes your production parts.

Low Volume, Small Batch, High Volume — One Discipline

Terminology varies by industry, so to be concrete: low volume CNC machining for us means pilot lots of roughly 25–250 pieces; small batch production runs in the hundreds; high volume CNC machining means repeat releases into the thousands on a locked process. The discipline is identical at every level — first article approval, in-process checks, final inspection — but the economics shift. At low volume, setup dominates unit cost, so we focus on fast prove-out. At high volume, cycle time and consistency dominate, so we invest in dedicated workholding and SPC tracking. If your quantities genuinely fit a different process or supplier model, we'll say so at quote stage.

What Makes Production Consistent

Dedicated workholding. At production quantities we build dedicated soft jaws, fixtures, and multi-part workholding instead of generic vise setups. This cuts cycle time, improves repeatability, and removes operator variation between batches.

In-process control. Critical dimensions are checked at defined intervals during every run — and for high-volume or tight-tolerance parts we track results with SPC (statistical process control) methods so drift is caught as a trend, not discovered as a reject. Sampled inspection plans (AQL-style) are available for high-volume general-tolerance features where full measurement adds cost without adding value.

Final inspection and documentation. Every batch gets final dimensional inspection before packing, with inspection reports, material certificates, and FAI documentation available on request. Details on the quality inspection page.

How Unit Price Behaves at Volume

Unit price falls steeply from prototype quantities to about 100–250 pieces, then flattens as setup and programming amortize away. Beyond that, savings come from process improvements — better fixtures, faster cycles, smarter material buys — not from volume alone. We quote at multiple quantities so you can see the curve and time your releases: a single order of 500 is almost always cheaper per piece than five orders of 100, because you pay setup once.
